G2P-SOL partners contributed to SOL online meeting

The yearly meetings of the Solanaceae research community was held this year online on 9.-11. November 2020. The meeting was extremely successful, gathering almost 1000 participants from 50 countries and showcasing 31 oral presentations and 100 virtual posters.

Several G2P-SOL consortium partners were contributing to the conference. Coordinator Giovanni Giuliano (ENEA), Glenn Bryan (The James Hutton Institute), Ilan Paran (The Volcani Institute) and Jaime Prohens (Universitat Politècnica de València) were part of the conference organizing committee. The conference included six sessions on the topics: Biotechnology, diversity and evolution, development, networks of metabolites, genes and organism, stress biology and breeding.

Jaime Prohens (Universitat Politècnica de València) presented the G2P-SOL related results in his talk titled Towards the development of the first eggplant MAGIC population and QTL analysis of selected morphological traits during the Breeding session.

Pasquale Tripodi (CREA) gave an oral presentation on Genebank genomics highlights novel centres of diversity and routes of migration in pepper (Capsicum spp.) highlighting the findings from G2P-SOL pepper group during the session Diversity and evolution.
